OUR STORY

Camino’s founders and longtime friends Allen and Nathan have always loved good beer, good food and the spirit of adventure.

“When we heard about the Camino de Santiago: hundreds and hundreds of miles of trails that crisscross through Europe, we packed our bikes, and booked a flight.”

Together we cycled countless miles over the Italian Alps, across vast landscapes, small cobblestoned villages, through rain, and blistering heat. We took wrong turns, did endless tire repairs, but one way or another we always found our destination.

There is a great camaraderie on the Camino – you will meet people from all walks of life. “We drank, ate, and shared stories with strangers who became friends.

When we got back home to San Jose, we didn’t want our journey to end. We knew we could overcome any obstacle, and made our dream of opening a brewery come true in 2017. Today we are a diverse and talented team of individuals aligned under a single vision – to bring our guests the best craft beer and beer drinking experience in the region.

 BREWING PHILOSOPHY

We pride ourselves in brewing a wide variety of styles well, so that there is something for everyone. Whether it’s a traditional German Lager or a juicy hazy IPA, we aim to make it a crushable delight.

Homebrewers at heart, we like to brew what we want to drink, which means you’ll often find some underappreciated styles mixed in.

We like trying new things, too, whether new ingredients or styles, and we love sharing the journey of discovering new flavors with our customers.

From grain to glass, every step in our brewing process is documented, and that data is used to make the next batch even better.  Changes to our recipes and processes to make our beer better are all data-driven, and fermentation is never rushed.  We know that fresh is best when it comes to beer, and that extends to the ingredients we use to make the beer.

Beer is all about community, so we like to collaborate with our friends in the industry, whether to raise money and awareness to causes close to our hearts (Ales for ALS, Pink Boots Society, Brave Noise) or simply to share and learn from our fellow brewers out there.

Buen Camino!
